Pumping & Disposal of Oil Tank Contents

Oil PumpingDigger Dicks Contracting Ltd., through their recognized pumping agents, has collected for processing and treatment 2.8 million litres of liquid contents from oil tanks, which has prevented approximately 1.3 million litres of old furnace oil leaching into the environment. An additional 1.5 million litres of water with oil molecules was also processed. The oil molecules were extracted and the water was treated before being released. The companies that processed and recycled the oil and water are Newalta Corp. and Chem-Ex.

Oil PumpingTank contractors do not have the legal right to pump tank contents or transport these contents, unless they carry a valid LT License (Ministry of Transportation) and a registration number (Ministry of Transportation) using a vehicle specific for the purpose of hauling these liquids. It also needs to be re-certified every year. As well as the LT Licensing, spillage insurance also needs to be carried for a minimum of $5,000,000.00. *Don’t allow your contractor to pump anything from your oil tank down the storm drain. Under the Transport Canada Guidelines, contractors are prohibited to have in their possession or transport these liquids in excess of 100 gallons (approx. 455 litres) without the proper licensing and insurance in place. This is why all “steel” tidy tanks do not exceed the 100 gallon margin.

Oil PumpingBecause Digger Dicks Contracting Ltd. is an ethical contractor and we sub-contract our pumping needs to an insured, licensed and responsible pumping agent, we know where ALL of our collected liquids end up………..At a recognized facility!

There is definitely a higher cost involved in doing a job this way, but it is the environmentally friendly and right way.
